New post, and challenge

OK, so I tried the blog thing and it didn't stick because I am lazy, but I am trying it again. This time another 1000 sng challenge. 1000 16 turbos on stars , probably in about two weeks as I don't play that much on the weekends. I will try to post some hand histories and will keep the results updated as usual.

I'm back with an update

ok, so i haven't played that much of late mainly due to work, but i will be playing lots in the next three weeks for sure!!
the stats are as follows:

Through 700 sng's:

So basically if i broke even from this point on i will still have a 10%roi over 100 sng's, the goal is still a 15% or higher roi which is attainable and sustainable for sure. I have stopped 16tabling and now only 12 or 14 table and this has really helped, 16 tables was ultimately just 2 tables two many and i find that even having 14 tables is much more controlable and gives me the extra second or two i need. still planning on playing lots of these into april and beyond. i need to play in some wsop satts this year and will be looking at the ones on full tilt and pokerstars.

monday, day 8??

Guess its not really important how many days it takes, although i am still trying to play 100 hundred a day. I played 92 sng's today so that is good, but i ran horribly for most of the day. It is actually remarkable how many coin flips i lost. If you play well then it is hard to have losing days, but you have to win at least half the coin flips and 60/40's (or Ax vs. KQ) to make money. I had one good session tonight that made today better than break even, so that was good. But very frustrating day, hopefully i get a good run of cards soon and build up some better profits. Hope to have 1000 sngs done by sunday:

weekend update

PLayed 80 sng's this weekend, which really isn't much but with the problems on stars and me using the weekends to get stuff done and hang out i actually play less than most on sat and sun. Anyways the goal was to play 100 over the two days but with the crash coming during my free time that was impossible. I played fairly well, however i am still not one hundred percent at 16 tabling yet and i have to make sure i don't let the high volume become an excuse for poor play.

Will be playing more this week hopefully, if not i will definietly be playing more in april, my goal is now to play 5000 before april 20th. This is a very reachable goal in my opinion and should net me a profit in 5 figures. We'll see what happens, i really want to take some shots at the wsop of poker this year too.

5th day- bounce back

I played 86 sng's today, which is good but i really want to be averaging a hundred a day, so I will see if can up the volume a bit next week. I have started 16 tabling all the time and it feels right. I was getting too loose in my play and decide to buckle down and start giving myself more opportunities for cashes. Playing too many hands is very easy to do in these tourneys, especially if you are running well. Playing so many tables makes you want to play less hands and makes me focus on being more anal about the hands i play. It worked well today and should help increase my volume. I ran poor this morning and i have seen some really beats, its amazing at the stupidity of plays you see in these things, this is what makes it so profitable, but you do have to put up with some ridiculous beats.

PLayed 81 sng's go, a couple sets of 16, and about four sets of 12. I finshed down for the day which isn't suprising considering the beats I took. What bothers me was the way I played and likely how I could have minimized this loss if I couldn't gotten lazy and made some bad pushes. Its hard after taking beats not to just want to shove on everyone, especially if your down to few tables, so I have to start remembering that everu table I have open counts. I ended with a good positive session so thats a good thing.

Played two sessions of 12 and one session of 14. Obviously it is good that I am getting more 1sts and 2nds than 3rds. I am basically killing it 3 handed which is good, still making the odd dumb push or gamble play I need to avoid. Overall playing very good and staying very discisiplined, but i can always improve. And its not like i've gotten great luck either, always the odd suckout here and there, but there are so many bad players its just very lucrative even if i run bad.

Anyways, just keep plugging away as best I can, really shooting for above 15 % roi for the 1st 1000sng's (above 2500.00$ profit).

Over the first 110 I played so far today and last night here are my stats:

Obviously I am happy with how things are going, although its kind of expected. I want to keep up this kind of ROI though, and think its definitely possible at this level. I think I can play 100 of these a day and average over 200 dollars profit daily. For the most part I 12 tabled, and did one set of 14 tables. I will likely keep 12 tabling, with the odd 14 or 16 table set thrown in when I'm feeling frisky and ready for the extra pressure. I am going to be taking some money out now and then, but will keep track of the profit I make through this ordeal in the blog, so anyways.

1st day

Ok, so it took a while to get going but the challenge will be in full effect this week. I will likley be playing about 100 of these a day for the two weeks, or at least till i get to one thousand. I will post my results for each one hundred that I play. I am thinking that if I can handle playing this many 16's, that I may stretch the challenge out to 5000, or even 10, 000. I am going on vacation in april, so I would like to play as many of these as possible until that time. I will also likley be playing in a few wsop satts, and will be skipping any cash games for the moment.

1st blog post

This blog will be tracing my steps as I attempt to build my bankroll and make money playing online poker. I have had quite a bit of success playing sng's and likely that is where I will be playing most of my poker over the next couple of months at least.

My first challenge will be playing 1000 sng at the 16 level turbo on stars. I did this last year and was pretty successful. So I figured it would be a good challenge to begin this blog with. I will likely be posting updates and such daily. My goal will be a 15% ROI, although I would be happy with anything over 10%.
