Poker and Balance and the future...

Lately I've become somewhat of a poker slob. No routine, just kindof aimlessly playing some games when I feel like it and not really concentrating on the game. Part of that stems from worrying, worrying about the games drying up, worrying about poker not being a realistic endeavor, worrying about not being good enough.

Today i finally decided that I needed to stop worrying and just play. It sounds easy enough, but for someone with an obsessive personality it's actually quite challenging. I'm simply commiting myself to being consistent and playing quality poker for 3-8 hours a day (or whatever my schedule lets me do) and going from there. I'll be in vegas from Nov 15th to 24th playing the venetian deepstack series and then after that will be at home grinding online. I'm aiming at playing sng's and mixing in some longer sessions of PLO cash games. I've been 12-16 tabling at .25/.50 and like the game but want to get in longer sessions so I can increase my rakeback. Other than that I'll be updating regularly my status and taking some shots at qualifying for bigger online and live tournies, it's what I've been successful at in the past and what I hope to have success at in the future.

In other news, I'm training for a half marathon in Vancouver in Feb. and will likely be doing the Vegas half or full marathon in December 2011. I've just started training for it, but I'm going to keep updating my progress, my goal will be to get up to 70 miles a week before Feb, I'm not sure what my goal time for the race will be but likely 1:18 or under.

wsop :(

i didn't win the wsop... i'm pretty sure the whole tourney is rigged anyways.

espn comes over to film peter jetten and he and i "conveniently" have KK-me and AA-him... yeah that's random (ps. i;m obviously joking about riggedness)

anyways, after destroying my table on day 1, i pretty much leaked chips the next two days till i lost a flip with about 22bb's left, people just kept flopping sets and trips on me and then i'd battle back only to see them disappear again, finally i resorted to shoving with aks and got called by jj... in a spot where the guy is probably folding 1010 to me.

now i am back to playing 16$ sng's until wcoop where i am going to win two events and then retire

wsop

i'm leaving for the wsop of poker in a couple days... winning would be nice but i understand there is some luck involved in tourney poker and am setting a more realistic goal of a top 5 finish...

getting mine...

So laziness has allowed me to not be able to complete my year in review for 2009...

Now that it is june 2010 I'll just talk about stuff I have been doing in the last little while.

I haven't played too much the past week after shipping a a wsop seat on stars. In the step 6 i got headsup with DDbeast who was totally outplaying me headsup until I turned my aggression up to mach 12 and then sucked out on him, following that I promptly cold decked him and shipped the seat. Just proof you don't have to be good to win.

I have kindof run bad since that time, although i did take 3rd in another step 6 for 3k, I don't buyin directly to these things, if i was good i would have the cash too, but i suck so i have to beat the donkeys at level one and move up from there.

Anyways, this week i've shipped two step 5's, both times having alltime sng great player, and stars sponsored player, spacegravy bubble. Now that I've beat him in two straight sng's I feel I can rightfully declare myself a better player than him and will be asking pokerstars shortly why he is a sponsored player and i am not, i will of course be showing them the results of both tournies as proof as to why i am better than him. Having two sng's as my sample size definitely will give credit to my argument. It is easy to poke holes in someone's game when they are using a small sample size like one sng as proof they are a good player, but with victories in two sng's i feel like stars will simply have no choice but to sign me straight away.

Well, anyways, that's all for now, I'll post back here once I get a response from pokerstars about my sponsorship and the size of the contract they offer me.
